TMC - Traffic Message Channel

TMC（Traffic Message Channel，交通信息频道）是一个数字编码系统。TMC能产生连续的交通信息流，如交通拥塞或事故，可报告出事地点与时间结果。信息包括了一定地域范围内的交通状况。将TMC信息与地图导航结合到一起，提高了车辆导航对前方路况预测的准确性。同时，在很多地区，建立DGPS数据的FM 负载波广播服务，提供广播电台周围的GPS差分校正数据，大大提高了GPS的位置定位精度。

In fact many of the chip sets used to implement DVB modems (and other satellite QPSK demodulators) in the early days before highly integrated mixed signal ASIC stuff took over used actual 6 or 8 bit
